Essential Documentation for Shipping your Vehicle to Asia
Completing all necessary paperwork is crucial for a smooth and successful car shipping experience. Here’s a glimpse at the kind of paperwork you’ll need to get your vehicle to Asia:
- Personal identification: Two copies of government-issued IDs, for example a passport or driver’s license.
- Vehicle information: Year, model, make, the vehicle’s estimated value and the original copy of the vehicle title.
- Financial information: If you have recently purchased your vehicle, you will need to provide both the title and bill of sale. If your vehicle has been financed, you will need to provide a notarized copy of the title and a notarized lien authorization. If a vehicle has any lien on it whatsoever, it cannot leave the USA. A way to ensure you can still ship your vehicle is to pay it off in full before it leaves the country. Also, note that military members are exempt from this rule and are able to ship a vehicle with a lien.
